The last year and a half have been of tremendous significance for Saga Subsea. With new owners, a company reorganization and new funding – all giving room for growth and development.
– We’ve been through a process of finding out what the next big step will be for Saga Subsea. Especially the last six months have been substantial in this process, says managing director, Lene Bakken.
Bakken took over as managing director as of March last year. During the same time period long-time business developer, Helge Rasmussen – known for his success with companies such as CSUB and HighComp, was introduced to the company. After being a supporting resource for about a year, Rasmussen took over as chairman of the board and became one of the owners in March 2024.
As of today, Rasmussen and Tor Alme – which is one of the founders of the company, owns 50% of the shares each.
– Helge has extensive experience when it comes to running companies and business development. With his entry we got an industrial partner that we’ve never had before. He’s been an enormous resource when it comes to input on improvements, further investments and growth, says Alme.
– Saga Subseas approach to the market is unlike others. Not only do they rent out equipment, but they also offer a range of services, while keeping it narrow enough to be best of the class. With fantastic employees, the best location in Haugesund and a good reputation there’s good prospects for future development, says Rasmussen.
Following the change in ownership, new funding has made it possible to invest more into the company.
– This process has made us financially stronger. The new funding enables us to do more of internal projects and improvements, as well as strengthen our staffing, says Bakken.
