Meet Our Newest Workshop Technician, Carl Harald!

This summer we were proud to welcome Carl Harald Bredahl to our team!

With another job offer pending it was a close call, but we managed to scoop Carl Harald Bredahl just in time.

– I was ready to sign a contract with another company, but a recruiter convinced me to take an interview with Saga Subsea before doing so. Afterwards came a job offer that was too tempting to refuse, he says.

After several years working on heavy machinery in the smelting industry, Carl Harald was eager for a change in scenery.

– I wanted to remain in the same line of work but explore another industry. Subsea was a field I’ve never worked in before, but it sounded incredibly interesting. Even more so after the interview and visit with Saga Subsea.

Subsea Repairs and Innovation

As our workshop technician, Carl Harald’s workday involves testing, service and repair on our rental equipment. In addition, he assists in creating completely new machines and custom-made solutions that are designed and invented in-house.

As a guy that hates sitting still and having a repetitive workday, the work tasks match him perfectly.

I’ve always enjoyed practical, hands-on work. Therefore the choice of profession as a mechanic, he smiles.

All his years of experience, and his natural curiosity and problem-solving attitude is put to use here at our facilities at Killingøy. And luckily for us he values teamwork and collaboration as much as we do.

– I believe in creative and collaborative thinking. By having an open dialogue when challenges arise, I consistently experience that the solutions come much faster. When people share their thoughts and ideas instead of going solo, many good ideas are generated and further developed, he says and adds quickly: – It’s been a pleasant surprise how close and friendly the working environment is at Saga Subsea. The weeks go by so fast when working on interesting projects with such a great bunch of people.

Always Alert to Tackle New Challenges

To reload his batteries in between projects at work Carl Harald turns to his family and friends. Often spending his time at the family cabin.

– I married into a family that loves winter and have their own cabin in the mountains. So naturally, I’ve also been drawn in to it and spend the majority of the summer and winter there. Some of my favourite moments are sitting out on the terrace after a day of skiing, just enjoying the view and lighting up a bonfire.

By enjoying time out in nature, or at the gym running and lifting weights, he ensures that he’s always alert and focused at work to help tackle our customers’ challenges and needs.

– I would say that I’m not a quitter. I have a strong drive and don’t quit before I have a solution for the problem at hand.
