Subsea Baskets for Small-Scale and Heavy-Duty Offshore Operations

With years of experience and continuous product development, we have built one of Europe’s most comprehensive fleets of subsea baskets – with the next generation launching soon.

For over a decade, Saga Subsea has been committed to delivering high-quality subsea baskets to clients all over Europe. The last couple of years, we have scaled up our efforts. The result? Our fleet now consists of 24 subsea baskets for rental, all equipped to tackle a variety of challenges in the offshore industry.

“To our knowledge we’re one of the leading companies in Europe when it comes to subsea baskets. Our goal is to have an unmatched fleet, both in size and functionality. That’s why we’re constantly working on improving our product line, and using our extensive knowledge and experience to optimize subsea baskets for offshore operations” says workshop and tooling manager, Alexander Alme Rossebø.

Introducing the Next Generation Subsea Baskets

Looking back, 2025 has been a year of growth and progress, and we aim to make 2026 just as exciting. At the moment we have three subsea baskets in the design and production phase, all to be launched in Q1 2026.

Except for our earliest models, almost all our subsea baskets are equipped with doors for easy loading and unloading, and they can be operated by ROVs. By adding smartly positioned ROV grabber bars, it’s easy to position the ROV for deploying and recovering equipment to the basket. A great number of pivot links ensures that the load is properly secured. On our newest models, we have improved these functionalities to make them even more user-friendly.

“The new subsea baskets have improved solutions to make handling even more efficient. We have done a redesign of the doors – which now opens the whole long side of the basket – to enable easier and safer operations by ROV and on deck.” explains Rossebø.

From 5-foot to 40-foot – Covering All Challenges

Whether your project is in demand of a large or small subsea basket, Saga Subsea has got you covered.

Our fleet varies from 40-foot baskets all the way down to 5-foot subsea baskets. Many of them are equipped with A-frames, ensuring a one-point-lift that removes the obstacles and challenges you get by using lifting slings.

“Most of our baskets are 20-foot standard subsea baskets, but our 16-foot Subsea basket with A-frame and 12-foot baskets are also very popular among our clients. And we cannot forget our Center Pole Basket, which can also be used as a guidepost extension basket where you can deploy multiple guidepost extensions at the same time”.

By equipping some of our subsea baskets with guidewire receptacles, they can be used for multiple operations.

“Many of our clients use these subsea baskets as DMAs to deploy XMT’s etc. We provide subsea baskets with all the tools you need to ensure safe deployment of equipment and tooling; in addition, the steel structure can serve as a clump weight.”

Subsea Baskets for Demanding Offshore Conditions

Every design decision that drives the evolution of the subsea baskets is carefully considered based on years of experience and knowledge. That results in subsea baskets that tackle major challenges and withstands harsh offshore conditions.

“Our subsea baskets have a robust design and are known to handle the demanding conditions that we see in the North Sea. If you have a special request, all our baskets can be adapted to specific projects or tools that you want to implement in the basket. That’s where our engineers and Special Solutions department come in, to customize subsea baskets to fit your specific needs.”

Depending on the project’s lifespan our subsea baskets can be rented for a short amount of time or for longer periods.
